Suffering Produces Character!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to introduce you to one of my favorite audio dramas: Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince. Not only is this a personal favorite, but it continues to be the best seller of the Lamplighter Theatre dramatic audios!

In today’s clip, Sir Malcolm reminds the king of the ancient words, "suffering produces character." Did you know that he is quoting Romans 5:3-5?

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. ~ Romans 5:3-5

Sir Malcolm knew that what Prince Hubert lacked was character. He also knew his Bible well enough to speak truth to his king and suggest allowing the lad to experience something for the very first time: suffering. Ouch! Who wants to suffer? Certainly not me.

“Yet even God allowed his own prophets to suffer so that they might become men of honor.” ~Sir Malcolm

Curious about how the king responds? Stay tuned…and we’ll journey along with Sir Malcolm and the missing prince and uncover the rich wisdom the prince finds along the way.

Until next time!
